Kolkata, 18 December 2020: Winter evenings can really be made memorable if accompanied by Hot Chocolateswith Shepherd’s Pies or Dim Kachoris on our platter. As the chill sets in the city, Kolkata hotspots gear up to welcome revellers. And among the popular and quintessentialones, Winter Lane, the first pop-up café of Eastern India at the Lake Terrace Road is all set to attract this winter’scrowd with some lip-smacking dishes everyday.
Pop-up Cafés are popular in Britain, United States, Australia and Cuba but this is the first time that a pop-up café is coming up in Kolkata. These cafes usually “pop-up” only during a specific time of the year and remainoperational for a certain period of time with seasonal delicacies, snacks, and beverages.
Winter Lane was launched in the presence of singer Anindya Chatterjee of Chandrabindoo fame, actor and musician Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee and Human Rights activist Ratnabali Ray today at Lake Terrace. The café will adhere to all the Covid-19 restrictions as it will allow only 14 people at a time.
This Pop-UpCafé will be operational from 18th December2020 to 18th March 2021 between 5.30 p.m to 10.00 p.m.Budding stand-up comedians and musicians willbe welcomed wholeheartedly to set the right ambiance. The menu card has alsobeen curated with special attention to variety and a pocket-friendly price.
As pop-up cafes usually do, Winter Lane too willkeep changing its items every seven tofifteen days. It will also shower its customers with tempting offers and just like a cherry on the cake; every Sunday will be a “Secret-Menu” day.
Atthe inauguration, Paramita Karati, whose brainchild isWinter Lane, said, “This will change the entire café culture of Eastern India.It will provide the customers with an extra-ordinary essence as it will give you warmth over a cup of hot chocolate during a cold evening. Kolkata hasalways been a city that welcomes new concepts with open arms. I too am hoping the best for this new venture of mine.”
